With singer Amy Winehouse's death a week ago, she became the latest member of the infamous 27 Club.
The 27 Club, also known as the Forever 27 Club, is made up of a number of famous musicians who all died unexpectedly at the age of 27.
All of the members had a history of drug abuse as well.
The first member of the club was Rolling Stones founding member Brian Jones, who passed away in 1969, who was found dead a month after he was released from the band.
Janis Joplin, Queen of Rock and Roll, dead a year later, after heavy use of heroin.
One of the most famous guitarists in history, Jimi Hendrix also died in 1970, from choking on his own vomit.
Jim Morrison of the Doors died the year after that, supposedly of heart failure.
Perhaps the most famous of them all, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana killed himself 17 years ago, in 1994.
These are just the most famous cases.
There's also a long list of other artists and creative types who all died at the age of 27, a statistally significant number of deaths.
While the cause of Amy Winehouse's death has yet to be officially decided, many people already assume that it was drug-related.
She is already considered the latest member of the 27 Club.
For Perspective, I'm Eric Gau.
